SSU exposes russian mole within Border Guard Service adjusting enemy strikes on Odesa

The Security Service of Ukraine has detained another agent of russia’s federal security service within Ukraine’s Defence Forces. He turned out to be a sailor in the State Border Guard Service’s maritime patrol unit who had been recruited by the enemy and was coordinating missile and drone strikes on Odesa.

The perpetrator identified combat positions of mobile air defence groups, radar stations, and anti-aircraft batteries defending the port city’s airspace.

Using intelligence gathered by the asset, the ruscists hoped to prepare a new series of airstrikes on Odesa evading Ukrainian air defences.

Among russia’s primary ‘targets’ were the locations where Ukrainian troops involved in combat operations on the southern front were concentrated.

The agent drove around the city and its outskirts in a taxi to covertly photograph military facilities with his phone camera through the car window.

The SSU caught the mole in the act of photographing the facade of a military facility that the enemy was preparing to strike with missiles.

As the investigation established, the sailor was recruited by the FSB while seeking ‘easy money’ on Telegram.

A smartphone containing evidence of his work for russia was seized from the suspect during the search.

SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The enemy accomplice is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Odesa Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
