SSU exposes another 5 pro-russian agitators, including fan of ‘Wagner’ mercenaries and blogger discrediting Ukrainian soldiers
In several regions of Ukraine, the SSU uncovered another five enemy agitators who were conducting information subversion against Ukraine.
The perpetrators publicly justified russia’s armed aggression and ruscists’ war crimes and promoted the invaders’ occupation groupings.
They also spread pro-kremlin narratives in public areas and on their pages in social media.
The Internet ‘activists’ took most of the destructive content from the aggressor state’s propaganda resources and presented them supposedly on behalf of ordinary Ukrainian citizens.
In Kyiv:
The SSU exposed a blogger who was discrediting Ukrainian defenders.
To do this, he reposted provocative streams and disseminated fakes about the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In Dnipropetrovsk region:
Four propagandists have been exposed. One of them is a resident of Pavlohrad district.
He placed his own posts on Odnoklassniki in support of the occupiers, including those glorifying the mercenaries of the russian private military company Wagner.
Another suspect is a Dnipro entrepreneur. It was documented that near a city park he publicly called on people to help ruscists in the war against Ukraine.
One more enemy accomplice is a resident of Kryvyi Rih who actively reposted russian propaganda from pro-kremlin Telegram channels controlled by enemy intelligence services.
The law enforcement also exposed an employee of a medical institution in Pavlohrad on information subversive activity.
In telephone conversations with her relatives from russia, the woman was justifying the temporary occupation of part of Ukraine.
During the searches of the suspects’ homes, the SSU seized computer equipment and mobile phones with evidence of the crimes.
The supporters of ruscism have now been notified of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111-1 (collaboration);
- 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The investigation is ongoing. The suspects face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operations were conducted by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region, the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk regions together with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
