Another seven agitators of ruscism uncovered in Ukraine’s several regions
The Security Service of Ukraine has detained another seven pro-kremlin agitators. They justified russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, called for massive strikes on Ukrainian cities and the complete occupation of our state.
In Kyiv, the SSU cyber units exposed a 28-year-old resident of the capital who evaded mobilisation and incited people to seize state authorities. He used anonymous pages on Instagram and Threads to spread illegal calls.
The SSU detained the perpetrator at his parents’ house in Sumy region, where he had fled from the capital to hide.
Another individual resorting to information subversion was uncovered in Zhytomyr region. He turned out to be a 60-year-old supporter of ruscism who on Telegram called for the genocide of the Ukrainian people and was waiting for a full occupation of our state.
It has been documented how the agitator, in his comments, urged russia to destroy Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities with massive air strikes.
In Vinnytsia region, organizers of an underground cell of fake ‘people’s power’ were apprehended. They turned out to be two local men and a woman who created a Telegram channel, where they called for the overthrow of the constitutional order in Ukraine and the seizure of state institutions.
The group also published a makeshift newspaper with enemy propaganda in a clandestine printing house, distributing it throughout Ukraine.
In Zaporizhzhia, an employee of a defence enterprise was detained: on Telegram he justified russia’s bombing of the city and called for its occupation.
In Cherkasy region, another hostile online agitator has been declared suspect for spreading fake news about the Armed Forces and the operational situation on the front line.
According to the investigation, the perpetrator is a russian citizen with a permanent residence permit in Ukraine.
The linguistic examinations initiated by the SSU confirmed the suspects’ information subversive activities for russia’s benefit.
The agitators have been notified of suspicion under several Articles of the CCU, according to crimes committed:
- 28.2, 109.2 (actions aimed at forceful change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizing state power, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy);
- 110.1 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine);
- 114-1.1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during a special period);
- 436-2.1, 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The suspects face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operational and investigative actions were carried out by the SSU Offices in Kyiv and Kyiv region, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, and Cherkasy regions under the procedural supervision of regional Prosecutors’ Offices.
