SSU exposes another eight pro-russian agitators, including court official and repeat offender who hid in basement for four years
The Security Service of Ukraine has collected evidence on another eight pro-kremlin agitators who supported russia’s armed aggression and war crimes.
In Kyiv, the secretary of one of the capital’s courts was detained for justifying the temporary occupation of Crimea and parts of eastern Ukraine. She also questioned the existence of Ukrainian statehood and supported russia’s full-scale invasion.
Another perpetrator has been exposed in Kherson. He turned out to be a 46-year-old repeat offender who had previously served time for murder and, after the capture of Beryslav district, began collaborating with the enemy.
The collaborator was involved in preparing for the sham referendum in the region and became a member of the occupation ‘election commission No. 809’.
The ‘official’ visited the homes of local residents and urged them to vote for the ‘annexation’ of Kherson region to russia.
After the de-occupation of the region, the traitor hid in his relatives’ basement for almost four years, hoping to evade justice.
In Zaporizhzhia, a former employee of a defence enterprise has been served a notice of suspicion for calling on social media for the occupation of the city.
He also campaigned in chat rooms for russian air strikes on drone-producing industrial facilities in the region.
In this way, he tried to be ‘noticed’ by the russian intelligence services in order to further conduct intelligence activities on russia’s behalf.
In Zhytomyr region, the organiser of an underground cell of fake ‘people’s power’ has been detained. He and his accomplice published propaganda videos on their YouTube channel, calling for non-recognition of the Ukrainian state, the legitimacy of its state bodies, and current legislation.
In Vinnytsia region, a 57-year-old singer who advocated for the ‘division’ of Ukraine and tried to discredit the Ukraine’s struggle against the russian occupiers has received a notice of suspicion.
Also in this region, a 55-year-old security guard of a local company was exposed for calling on russian troops to continue strikes on the regional center.
In Cherkasy region, the SSU detained a woman who posted messages on social media in support of the russian private company Wagner.
The SSU-initiated linguistic examinations in these cases have confirmed the facts of subversive activities by the agitators in favor of the aggressor state.
The supporters of ruscism have been notified of suspicion, according to the actions committed, under the Articles of the CCU:
- 109.2 (public calls for forceful change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power, as well as the distribution of materials calling for such actions);
- 110.2 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, combined with incitement of national or religious hatred);
- 28.2, 111-1.5 (collaboration, committed by a group of persons, upon prior conspiracy);
- 436-2 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The perpetrators face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operational and investigative actions were carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office and regional prosecutors’ offices.
