SSU exposes another two collaborators involved in organizing russia’s sham referenda
The SSU has uncovered another two collaborators who cooperated with russia at the beginning of the full-scale war in Kharkiv and Kherson regions.
Both women were engaged in the preparation of the fake referenda on the ‘accession’ of the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine to russia.
One of them is a former saleswoman from the right bank Kherson region.
After the seizure of Beryslav district, she got a job at the occupation ‘election commission’, set up by ruscists.
There, she was in charge of ‘ballots’ and, accompanied by russian military, visited local households to collect the ‘votes’.
If people refused to sign in support of the kremlin, she threatened them with persecution by the occupiers.
After the liberation of the area, the collaborator fled to Khmelnytskyi oblast and was hiding from justice there.
The SSU found her and served her a notice of suspicion under Article 28.2, 111-1.5 of the CCU (collaboration, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 10 years in prison.
The other traitor is the secretary of the elder of one of the village councils in Kupiansk district, Kharkiv region. During the temporary occupation, she joined russia’s local occupation administration.
There, the woman collected passport data of her fellow villagers to use it to hold russia’s sham referendum.
After the de-occupation, she tried to go into hiding, but the law enforcement found her and served her a notice of suspicion under Article 111-1.2 of the CCU (collaboration).
The operations were conducted by the SSU Offices in Kharkiv, Kherson and Khmelnytskyi regions jointly with the National Police under the supervision of the prosecutor’s offices.
