SSU exposes two spotters from FSB agent network guiding russian strikes on Dnipro
The SSU Counterintelligence has detained another two members of an agent network of russia’s federal security service responsible for directing enemy shelling on Dnipro. They turned out to be the mother and brother of a russian agent whom the SSU had exposed in June this year.
The investigation revealed that it was she who recruited her relatives to collaborate with the enemy; they subsequently helped her to track the locations and technical condition of defence enterprises against which the aggressor was preparing combined strikes.
To this end, the traitors walked around the perimeter of restricted-access facilities and marked the geolocations of production workshops and logistics depots on Google Maps.
The perpetrators also collected data on the locations and aftermath of enemy strikes to prepare new or repeated attacks on the regional centre.
After the agent was exposed, her mother and brother initially went into hiding, but later contacted their russian handler to continue the detained agent’s ‘mission’.
The SSU documented the intelligence-gathering and sabotage activities of her accomplices and detained them.
During the searches of the suspects’ premises, mobile phones, which they had used to gather intelligence and coordinate their actions with the FSB, were seized.
SSU investigators have notified the detainees of suspicion under Articles 28.2, 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed by a group, by prior conspiracy).
The suspects are in custody without bail and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office.
