SSU exposes another enemy informant guiding strikes on Khmelnytskyi region

The SSU Counterintelligence has detained another individual in the Khmelnytskyi region who was directing missile and drone attacks on the region. The spotter helped enemy target administrative buildings of state institutions, logistics depots and locations where Defence Forces personnel and equipment were concentrated.

The perpetrator turned out to be an unemployed resident of Slavuta; he had come to the attention of the russian intelligence via Telegram channels offering ‘easy’ money.

On russia’s instructions, he surveyed the town and its surrounding area to identify and transmit the geolocations of potential targets to the aggressor state.

The SSU exposed the traitor at the early stage of his espionage activities – after he had received an enemy order to collect coordinates for a planned air attack on the western region.

It has been documented that the perpetrator photographed the facade of an administrative building and the checkpoints of a military unit on his mobile phone camera.

Following this, the spotter was to identify and leak the geolocation of Ukrainian military storage facilities to the ruscists.

The SSU Counterintelligence arrested the suspect at his home. A smartphone, on which he had stored photographs of Ukrainian facilities and electronic coordinates on Google Maps, was seized during the search.

SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorised disclosure of information regarding the movement or deployment of the AFU, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody without bail and faces up to 12 years in prison.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Khmelnytskyi region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
