SSU exposes another collaborator who guarded russian prison during Kherson’s occupation
In Kherson, the Security Service of Ukraine has detained another traitor who cooperated with the ruscists during the occupation.
According to the investigation, the perpetrator is a 52-year-old local resident who voluntarily joined the ‘Kherson region penitentiary administration’ set up by the aggressor state in June 2022.
There, he received a russian uniform, weapons and an ‘ID card’, which allowed him to move freely around the city through enemy checkpoints.
In the occupation authority, he was appointed ‘junior inspector’ of the russian torture chamber, which the enemy had set up in the building of the then-captured correctional colony.
The collaborator guarded prison cells to which the invaders brought members of the resistance movement.
After the de-occupation of Kherson, the individual remained in the city and tried to evade justice.
The SSU documented the crime, established the man’s location and detained him.
Based on the evidence, Security Service investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (collaboration).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operational and investigative actions were carried out by the SSU Offices in Chernihiv and Kherson regions under the procedural supervision of Chernihiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
