The SSU continues to cleanse its ranks. The SSU Main Directorate of Internal Security jointly with the SBI exposed an employee of one of the SSU units in Zaporizhzhia region who carried out intelligence and subversive activities for russian special services.

According to the investigation, after the full-scale invasion started the individual began to covertly collect his colleagues’ personal data and classified information on high-profile investigations.

‘Today, the SSU is working as a united team and is doing its best for Ukraine’s Victory. And self-cleansing from traitors is an important part of this process. Let everyone understand: the SSU is not a place for kremlin’s agents and people who don’t believe in Ukraine’s Victory. If someone betrays their oath and the Ukrainian people, they must be held to account,’ the SSU Acting Head Vasyl Maliuk underscored.

Criminal proceeding was opened under the Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law). The exposed official was served a notice of suspicion. Court is to decide on a measure of restraint.

The operation and investigation were carried out under the procedural supervision of the Specialized Military and Defence Prosecutor’s Office.
