SSU exposes another three pro-russian internet agitators, including one who called for Oreshnik strike on Kyiv
The Security Service of Ukraine has detained another three kremlin supporters in several regions of Ukraine who publicly backed russia’s armed aggression against our state and justified the occupiers’ war crimes.
In Kharkiv, the SSU Military Counterintelligence has exposed a 55-year-old employee of a local car service station who called on the occupiers to strike Kyiv with Oreshnik ballistic missile. He massively disseminated such messages on Telegram under an anonymous profile.
Another perpetrator detained in the region is a monk from a male monastery of moscow patriarchate’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He has been calling on russians in pro-kremlin social media groups to capture Kharkiv and ‘annex’ it to russia.
The investigation established that the monk had made similar statements while talking to parishioners.
During the searches of his home, a sum worth over UAH 2.5 million, part of which was in russian rubles, was found.
In Mykolaiv region, the SSU cyber unit, together with the State Bureau of Investigation and the National Police, detained the head of a temporary detention center who justified the war crimes of ruscists in Bucha.
To spread kremlin propaganda, the official registered her page on TikTok under a fictitious name.
Linguistic examinations initiated by the SSU confirmed the facts of information and subversive activities by the agitators in favor of the aggressor state.
Smartphones and computer equipment with evidence of the crimes were seized during the searches of the suspects’ homes.
SSU investigators notified the detainees of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 436-2.2, 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants);
- 161.1 (inciting national enmity and hatred).
The suspects are in custody and face up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operational and investigative activities were carried out by the SSU Offices in Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions jointly with the State Bureau of Investigation and the National Police under the procedural supervision of regional Prosecutor’s Offices.
