SBU blocks forging of PCR test results
In Kharkiv region, the SBU exposed the forgery scheme of PCR test results. The perpetrators entered the incorrect data in the app Dii Vdoma. Among the clients were those who tested positive for COVID-19, that could lead to the spread of pandemic.
Employees of a private laboratory jointly with the travel agency organized the deal. The tour-operator offered the service to the citizens who planned to go abroad or had already returned avoiding the mandatory self-isolation.
Allegedly, they set up the illegal scheme at the beginning of 2020. About a 1000 certificates were issued every month, the cost of one was UAH 800 (USD 30).
Certificates were issued without the testing of patient and selection of materials for it. The infected person could easily obtain negative test results.
During the searches at the places of residence of the defendants and at 10 addresses of private laboratories, law enforcement officers seized the falsified certificates, forged seals, official documents and computer equipment with the evidence of illegal activities.
The operation is ongoing to bring to justice all the individuals involved in the illegal activities for the violation of rules related to combating contagious diseases and mass poisonings.
The operation was carried jointly with the investigators of National Police under the supervision of Kharkiv region Prosecutor's Office.
