SBU detects spread of anti-Ukrainian propaganda

The Security Service of Ukraine has stopped the criminal activities of the anti-Ukrainian propagandist. The attacker, using real online platforms of international public initiatives, called for bringing of Russian troops into Ukraine.

The operatives of the special service established that the agitator, a resident of Kyiv region, administered anti-Ukrainian resources in one of the popular social networks and justified and "legitimized" the annexation of Crimea and Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine.

The attacker also posted on international online platforms of public initiatives petitions calling on the President of Russia to bring troops into the territory of Ukraine and join the south-east of Ukraine to Russia. Then, using online communities, the agitator organized the promotion and collection of signatures for fake petitions.

In addition, the woman systematically distributed publications from Russian propaganda information resources and social networking communities. The materials discredited Armed Forces of Ukraine units in the JFO area and promoted the activities of DNR terrorist militants.

It has been documented that the agitator was "inspired" by anti-Ukrainian sentiments while attending so-called "biker rallies". They were organized by the Night Wolves biker club and its leader, Putin's friend O. Zaldostanov.

According to Ukrainian special service, in the near future the attacker planned to conduct an active provocative campaign on the Internet on the eve of the joint military exercises of Ukraine and NATO.

According to the conclusions of the examinations, the materials obtained during the pre-trial investigation, contain calls for the overthrow of the constitutional order of Ukraine.

During searches at the place of residence of the person involved in one of the district centers of Kyiv region, mobile devices and computer equipment containing evidence of her criminal activity were seized.

Currently, the SBU investigators have served the offender suspicion notice of committing actions aimed at forcible change or overthrow of the constitutional order or the seizure of state power.

Investigative actions are underway.

The operation was conducted under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
