SSU exposes another two online propagandists of ruscism in Kharkiv and Cherkasy regions

The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed two agitators who spread russian disinformation and justified the kremlin’s war against Ukraine.

In Cherkasy region, a former seminarian of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (moscow patriarchate) theological seminary was uncovered for disseminating pro-kremlin content on Facebook. The suspect was in the inner circle of the Metropolitan of the Cherkasy Diocese of the UOC-MP, against whom the SSU has already filed charges.

The perpetrator used his personal social media account to deny russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, praise russian armed formations, and justify their crimes, including those committed against civilians.

In Kharkiv, the Security Service, in cooperation with the State Border Guard Service, exposed a local market vendor who promoted support for the kremlin regime.

She distributed provocative content of the aggressor state via messaging apps and during in-person conversations with acquaintances. She also posted pro-russian comments on social media.

Linguistic examinations initiated by the SSU confirmed the unlawful nature of both agitators’ activities.

SSU investigators have served both individuals with notices of suspicion under parts 2 and 3 of Article 436-2 of the CCU (justification, recognition as lawful, or denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, and glorification of its participants).

The suspects face up to eight years in prison and confiscation of property.

The operations were carried out by the SSU Offices in Cherkasy and Kharkiv regions under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Offices.
