The SSU Counterintelligence, in cooperation with the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, prevented enemy from infiltrating one of the leading defence plants in Ukraine’s south.

As a result of a special operation in Mykolaiv, an agent was detained for trying to obtain information for the russians about the locations of defence enterprises in the region.

The investigation established that the woman had involved her partner, an employee of a Ukrainian defence industry enterprise, in the crime.

The ruscists recruited the woman first. Knowing that the company she controlled cooperated with a defence plant in Mykolaiv, they instructed her to gather information on the location of military industry facilities and types of defence orders in the southern region.

To do this, she used her partner, who worked in the logistics department of a defence plant and interacted with her company.

The SSU identified the agent couple at the beginning of their cooperation with the aggressor.

It was established that the man passed information to the woman about the status of state orders and the locations of the enterprise’s production facilities.

However, the traitor did not have time to inform the occupiers – the SSU detained her at this stage.

During the search of the suspect’s home, a smartphone was seized with evidence of her contacts with her ‘liaison’ – Serhiy Lebedev, also known as ‘Lokhmatyi’, who works for the FSB and the GRU in Donetsk.

SSU investigators notified the detainees of suspicion, according to the offences committed, under the Articles of the CCU:

• 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
• 114-2.1 (unauthorized dissemination of information on the Armed Forces of Ukraine, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The court is to decide on a measure of restraint for her accomplice.

The special operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Mykolaiv region under the procedural supervision of Mykolaiv Specialized Defense Prosecutor’s Office for the Southern Region.
