SSU detains member of militant anti-aircraft unit seeking Ukrainian pension

The SSU Counterintelligence continues to take steps to expose militants of illegal armed formations of the so-called L/DNR. A former member of a militant group involved in hostilities against the ATO forces was detained in Luhansk region.

The woman tried to covertly cross over to the government-controlled territory to register for a pension.

According to preliminary data, she joined the militants in December 2014 and was assigned to the so-called anti-aircraft missile battalion of one of the IAFs.

Later, the offender left the group and was hiding from justice in the temporarily occupied territories.

The detainee has been notified of suspicion of committing a crime under Article 260.2 (participation in the activities of unlawful armed groups) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The court is to decide on the measure of restraint.

Pre-trial investigation is underway.

The Main SSU Directorate in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operation together with the National Police under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.

To remind, in October this year the SSU detained the former militant of so-called LNR, who also fled from the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region seeking Ukrainian pension.
