SSU exposes russia’s agent in Europe who helped organize terrorist attacks in Ukraine
The SSU Counterintelligence has detained a minor – an agent of russian special services. Based in the EU, he was looking for executors in Ukraine to carry out terrorist attacks.
Most of the agents he recruited were teenagers looking for easy money.
The suspect was detained on the western border of our country, where he was brought by the Polish law enforcement in connection with his forced return to Ukraine.
The investigation established that the enemy accomplice is a 16-year-old from Kharkiv who left for the EU in the autumn of 2024.
While there, he began looking for easy money on Telegram channels, where he came to the attention of the russian intelligence. After recruitment, the enemy instructed him to look for potential executors of terrorist attacks in Ukraine.
Once he found ‘candidates’, he put them in direct contact with the russian special services.
Two of the agents he recruited were 15-year-old residents of Kharkiv. In December 2024, they carried out explosions near police stations in Slobidskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts of the city.
The girl took an improvised explosive device from a cache, while the guy made another IED and filled it with metal nuts. Then they planted the bombs at the sites of the terrorist attacks.
The pair of executors were detained immediately after the ruscists remotely activated the hidden IEDs.
For another attack, the minor enlisted the help of his 21-year-old acquaintance, a native of the frontline town of Kostiantynivka.
At the beginning of this year, she arrived in Odesa region, rented an apartment, where she made an IED from plastic explosives and planted it near the Territorial Recruitment Center building. The law enforcement apprehended her and prevented the terrorist attack.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators classified the crimes of the enemy agent brought in from the EU under the Articles 27.5 and 258.2 of the CCU (aiding and abetting in the commission of terrorist acts, by a group upon prior conspiracy).
The detainee is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operational and investigative actions were carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
