SBU advocates extradition to Ukraine of PMC Wagner militants detained in Minsk

The Security Service of Ukraine is convinced that the militants of the Private military company Wagner, who were detained on 20 July 2020 in the Republic of Belarus, should be extradited to Ukraine. The SBU takes the appropriate initiative and requests the extradition of these persons through the Prosecutor General`s Office of Ukraine as provided by law.

To remind, the Belarusian authorities published a list of 33 detained citizens of Russia. The SBU gathered enough evidence proving the war crimes of the PMC Wagner in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

All these persons, like anyone who took part in the seizure of Ukraine territories and other war crimes, must stand trial and receive the punishment provided by the law of Ukraine.

It should be noted that the Security Service has long been investigating activities of the PMC Wagner in the East of Ukraine and had earlier published lists of militants who fought against Ukraine.
