SBU blocks sales channel of smuggled ecstasy and cocaine in Ukraine (video)
The SBU neutralized an international drug gang during a special operation in Kyiv city and Zaporizzhia region. The criminals sold wholesale consignments of contraband drugs and psychotropic substances in different regions of Ukraine.
According to operative data, the monthly profit of drug dealers was over UAH 3 million.
It has been established that the members of the group have set a transnational channel for the smuggling of cocaine, ecstasy and LSD psychotropic drugs into the territory of our country. The criminals sold the goods received from foreign accomplices through their own extensive network of dealers.
Law enforcement officers detained the organizer and two active members of the group in Kyiv city while selling another consignment of drugs.
During searches at the residences of dealers in the capital and Zaporizzhia region, the law enforcement found:
- lmost 2 thousand ecstasy pills,
- about 0.5 kg of cocaine,
- LSD blotter tabs,
- more than 1 kg of cannabis,
- other evidence of illegal activity.
The cost of seized drugs at black market is almost UAH 2.5 m.a
The issue of serving detainees suspicion notices and choosing a type of detention is currently being resolved.
As part of the criminal proceedings, investigative and operational actions are underway to establish all the circumstances of the offense and to prosecute other persons involved in it.
Measures to block the drug business were carried out by officers of the SBU Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime together with investigators of the Desnianskyi Police Unit of the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv city and under the procedural guidance of the Desnianskyi District Prosecutor's Office.
