SSU completes investigation into first rape case during the war
The SSU investigators have gathered enough evidence and witness testimonies to bring to justice a russian serviceman suspected of killing and raping residents of Kyiv region.
This is Mikhail Sergeevich ROMANOV, a military serviceman of the military unit No 8954, based in Chebarkul, Chelyabinsk region, russia.
The SSU established that during the occupation of one of the villages in Brovary district this man had committed heinous crimes.
In a state of alcohol intoxication, he broke into a home of a young Ukrainian family. Without any hesitation, he killed an unarmed civilian man. Then, Romanov and his accomplice raped the man’s wife, threatening to shoot her.
The SSU will continue to expose occupiers’ war crimes and gather evidence for an international tribunal so that no invader goes unpunished.
