SSU declares russian servicemen suspects: they abused Ukrainian PoWs during russian offensive on Kharkiv in 2024

The SSU has collected new evidence of russian war crimes on the territory of Ukraine.

The perpetrators are:

  •  Aleksey Kiprin - commander of the 3rd rifle company of the 153rd tank regiment of the 47th tank division of the 1st tank army of the russian armed forces;
  •  Aleksey Kuchmanov - senior rifleman of the 2nd platoon of the 3rd rifle company of the above-mentioned military unit.

In May-June this year, they took part in the repeated russian offensive on Kharkiv.

During the battle near the village of Starytsia, Chuhuiv district, Kiprin and his subordinate, together with three accomplices, captured four Ukrainian defenders.

During the convoy of the bound prisoners of war, the russian servicemen beat them, knocked them down, and simulated executions by firing shots near their heads.

Kiprin recorded all the torture on his mobile phone and then posted the video on the Internet.

After documenting the war crimes and conducting relevant examinations, the investigators collected evidence against both enemy soldiers.

Following the investigation, the SSU notified Kiprin and Kuchmanov of suspicion under Articles 28.2 and 438.1 of the CCU (violation of laws and customs of war, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy).

The efforts to bring both ruscists to justice are underway.

The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
