SSU serves notice of suspicion in absentia to russian colonel who commanded missile attack on civilian facilities in Kryvyi Rih

The Security Service of Ukraine has documented new crimes committed by the russian colonel Oleg Skitsky, who is involved in missile and bomb attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.

He is the commander of the 121st heavy bomber regiment of the russian aerospace forces.

According to the investigation, the ruscist directly commanded the air attack on the warehouses of a private company in Kryvyi Rih in the early summer of 2023.

The enemy strike killed 7 civilian employees of the facility and one local resident.

To carry out the attack, Skitsky ordered the use of several Tu-95 strategic bombers.

As was established, the missile that hit the commercial warehouse was a Kh-101 air-to-ground missile, which one of the aircraft launched over the Caspian Sea.

Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served Skitsky a notice of suspicion in absentia under Article 438.2 of the CCU (war crimes that resulted in the death of people).

In the summer of 2024, the SSU established Skitsky’s involvement in the strikes on energy generating enterprises and power substations in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad and Vinnytsia regions.

At that time, his crimes were qualified under Articles 28.2, 438.1, 28.2, 438.2 of the CCU (violation of laws and customs of war, committed upon prior conspiracy, by a group).

The efforts to bring the enemy commander to justice are ongoing.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
