SSU serves in absentia notice of suspicion to russian singer-propagandist Shaman
The Security Service of Ukraine has collected evidence against russian singer Yaroslav Dronov, better known by his stage name ‘Shaman’. He publicly supports and promotes russia’s war against Ukraine.
The singer is one of the kremlin-controlled pop artists who publicly support the actions of the russian leadership and glorify those involved in the war against Ukraine.
For this purpose, Dronov regularly performs at concerts and mass events in support of putin and russia’s occupation troops.
According to the investigation, at the end of 2022 the propagandist recorded a video message in which he glorified the servicemen of the russian armed forces fighting against Ukraine and recognized the legitimacy of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, which began in 2014.
Also in February 2023, Dronov was in the temporarily occupied part of the left bank of Kherson region, where he performed at a paid concert in support of the kremlin regime.
The SSU-initiated linguistic examination confirmed the facts of the suspect’s information subversive activities.
Based on the evidence, the SSU notified Dronov of suspicion in absentia under Article 436-2.3 of the CCU (denial of the temporary occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine, recognition of legitimacy of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, which began in 2014, as well as glorification of russian armed forces, committed repeatedly with the use of mass media).
Efforts to bring the ruscist propagandist to justice are underway.
The investigation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
