SSU serves suspicion notice in absentia to russia’s deputy prime minister for supplying weapons and drones to ruscists
The Security Service of Ukraine has documented the crimes of Yuri Trutnev, the deputy prime minister of the russian federation and plenipotentiary representative of the russian president in the Far Eastern federal district. He has been involved in providing ideological, financial and logistical support for the full-scale war waged by russia against Ukraine.
The investigation revealed that the sanctioned official periodically visits frontline areas to deliver weapons, ammunition and supplies to the russian occupation forces.
During one of his ‘working trips’ to the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region in 2025, he handed over almost four hundred sniper systems and drones to the militants.
Trutnev also provided electronic warfare equipment to the command of units of russia’s Southern military district.
Each of these trips is accompanied by extensive media coverage from kremlin propagandists.
In this coverage, the suspect repeatedly stated to putin’s media pool that he supported russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and justified the war crimes committed by ruscists in the process.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators have notified Trutnev in absentia of his status as a suspect under Articles 27.5 and 437.2 of the CCU (aiding and abetting in waging of an aggressive war).
The suspect will be placed on the international wanted list. He faces life imprisonment.
The investigation was conducted with operational support from the Protection of National Statehood Department and under procedural supervision of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
