SSU notifies suspicion in absentia to traitor who defected to enemy and praised armed aggression against Ukraine
The Security Service of Ukraine has collected evidence against Kyrylo Bilousov, a former contract soldier in one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ mechanised brigades who defected to the enemy.
The investigation found that, in January 2023, he abandoned his post in the Sievierodonetsk district of Luhansk region during fighting and joined the russian armed groupings.
Within the ruscist units, he was appointed commander of a volunteer unit and sent to fight in the Pokrovsk sector.
It has been documented that, in 2024, the traitor participated in assaults on Ukraine’s defensive lines near Novohrodivka.
Furthermore, Bilousov has given multiple interviews to kremlin propagandists filming commissioned reports in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory.
During these interviews, he praised russia’s armed aggression and the occupying forces of the Southern military district of the aggressor state.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators notified Bilousov in absentia of his status as a suspect under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
- 111-1.7 (voluntary participation of a Ukrainian citizen in illegal armed or paramilitary formations established in temporarily occupied territory and/or the armed formations of the aggressor state).
Efforts to locate and punish him are ongoing.
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Specialised Prosecutor’s Office for the Eastern Region.
