The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed the channel of illegal transportation of military goods abroad. The participants of the scheme tried to illegally send equipment for engineering support of military units.

In particular, SBU officers detained the organizer of the scheme at an attempt to illegally send components for BREM-1 armored evacuation vehicles.

It was established that the illegal activity was organized by a resident of the city of Khmelnytskyi. The offender established a channel for the illegal export of military products to several countries in Central Europe and North America. The dealers used international postal services for illegal cross-border movement.

Investigators of the security authorities initiated criminal proceedings upon violation of the procedure for international transfers of goods subject to state export control.

A pre-trial investigation is underway to establish the sources of weapons and bring to justice other persons involved in the offense.

Measures to expose illegal activities were carried out by employees of the SBU Main Directorate for Counterintelligence Protection of the State's Interests in the Sphere of Economic Security.
