SSU detains two enemy agents guiding russian attacks on Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia

The Security Service has detained two more enemy agents who were guiding russian airstrikes on the Kyiv region and Zaporizhzhia.

They turned out to be local residents recruited by russia – supporters of ruscism who were awaiting the full occupation of Ukraine.

Specifically, following instructions from a russian handler, an asset from the capital tracked the locations of radar stations and anti-aircraft missile systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

To identify the coordinates of Ukrainian air defence systems, the agent surveyed areas near Kyiv and marked the likely positions of military units on Google Maps.

Another detained spotter worked as a driver at a post office in Zaporizhzhia. While delivering packages throughout the region, he recorded the geolocations and directions of movement of the Defence Forces’ military convoys.

The SSU documented the agents’ crimes and apprehended them.

Smartphones containing evidence of their work for the FSB were seized during the searches.

SSU investigators notified them of their status as suspects under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
  • 114-2.3 (unauthorised dissemination of information on the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, committed under martial law).

The operations were carried out by the SSU Department for the Protection of National Statehood together with investigators from the SSU Main Investigation Directorate under the procedural supervision of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
