SSU detains 6 russian Internet agents: one of them called for genocide of Ukrainians and strikes with Satan missiles on Western countries
The SSU has neutralized an extensive interregional network of pro-russian Internet agents, consisting of six enemy accomplices.
They used messengers and banned social networks to spread disinformation and kremlin’s narratives on the war in Ukraine.
The agitators picked up most of the destructive content from the aggressor’s Internet resources.
In Kyiv:
The SSU exposed a 37-year-old resident of the capital, who in the russian social network Vkontakte called for mass murder of Ukrainians.
The man agitated for the use of Satan intercontinental ballistic missiles against Western partner countries of Ukraine.
The offender also tried to discredit the Ukrainian military, including Azovstal defenders.
The individual was served a notice of suspicion under six Articles of the CCU:
- 442.2 (genocide);
- 258-2.1 (public calls to commit a terrorist act);
- 109.2, 109.3 (actions aimed at violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power);
- 110.1, 110.2 (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability);
- 436 (propaganda of war);
- 436-2.2, 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
In Odesa region:
The law enforcement blocked information and subversive activities of a local resident, who administered several pro-kremlin Telegram channels.
On these resources, the woman posted publications calling for strikes on Ukrainian cities and spread fakes about the number of killed Ukrainian defenders.
In Mykolaiv region:
The SSU served a notice of suspicion to the wife of a rector of a temple belonging to moscow patriarchate’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The woman reposted anti-Ukrainian content from the russian media and approved of russia’s war crimes in her correspondence with community members.
In Kharkiv:
SSU cyber specialists documented the unlawful activity of a resident who on Odnoklassniki social network called for cooperation with enemy and the occupation administration in the captured areas of eastern Ukraine.
In Cherkasy region:
The law enforcement exposed two residents who popularized russian occupation groupings and glorified occupiers’ crimes.
The investigations are ongoing. Criminal proceedings were opened under two Articles of the CCU:
- 436-2 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants);
- 111-1 (collaboration).
The SSU Offices in Kyiv and Kyiv region, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Cherkasy regions exposed the enemy Internet agents jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
