SSU detains administrator of pro-kremlin Telegram channel who ‘leaked’ AFU’s locations on eastern front to enemy

As a result of counter-sabotage operations in the frontline areas of Donetsk oblast, the SSU Counterintelligence detained another enemy informant.

The traitor is a resident of Pokrovsk district, who created his own Telegram channel after the start of russia’s full-scale invasion.

On this resource, he posted electronic maps with markings of locations and routes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Avdiivka.

The spy collected this intelligence on his own initiative: he drove to the target areas and covertly recorded locations of Ukrainian defenders.

The enemy accomplice also published information on consequences of russian air strikes on the district.

In these messages, he provided coordinates of the affected Ukrainian targets with georeferencing.

The main users of the Telegram channel were militants of the occupation troops and russian intelligence services involved in warfare on the eastern front.

The administrator of the channel also used his resource to spread the fakes of kremlin propaganda on the socio-political situation in the region.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on sending, movement of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, transfer or deployment of the AFU or other lawful military formations).

The suspect is in custody, facing up to 8 years in prison. The investigation is underway.

The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
