SSU detains FSB agent preparing russian missile strikes on military educational institutions and hospitals in Zhytomyr and Odesa

The SSU has foiled another attempt by the FSB to obtain up-to-date intelligence on locations of Ukrainian defenders in Odesa and Zhytomyr regions.

The enemy was particularly interested in information on higher military educational institutions in both regions: how they operate, whether personnel have been relocated, etc.

The occupiers also tried to conduct reconnaissance of medical facilities where Ukrainian servicemen were treated.

For this purpose, the russian service engaged its agent, a 19-year-old Odesa resident. The individual was looking for easy money on the Internet and came to the FSB’s attention.

On the aggressor’s instructions, every day he visited several locations in the city to find out if there were any Ukrainian servicemen.

Being close to the site, the spy observed its perimeter and checkpoints and took photographs.

The asset reported the obtained information via a messenger app to his russian handler.

Later, the FSB sent the man to Zhytomyr oblast to spy in the same way.

After confirming the coordinates of potential targets, the invaders planned to carry out missile and drone strikes on them.

The SSU detained the traitor when he was conducting reconnaissance near a facility in Zhytomyr.

Action was taken to protect the bases of Ukrainian defenders.

According to the investigation, the agent was in contact with a serving officer of the FSB directorate in moscow and moscow region, whom the SSU has identified.

For each completed assignment, the ‘supervisor’ promised a financial reward to be transferred to the informant’s bank card.

SSU investigators have served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment.

The special operation was carried out by the SSU Main Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
