SSU detains FSB agent who prepared caches with explosives and adjusted enemy strikes on Kharkiv defense plants
The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended another agent of russia’s federal security service who operated in Kharkiv. The perpetrator was preparing IEDs for terrorist attacks and adjusted the aggressor’s missile and bomb strikes on the city.
He is a 24-year-old unemployed Kharkiv resident who came to the FSB’s attention on Telegram channels, where he posted pro-kremlin comments.
After recruitment, the handler sent him geolocations of enemy caches with IED components. The agent equipped the bombs with phones and explosives and hid them in new caches.
The traitor also reconnoitered the sites of defense enterprises, including companies that manufacture and repair combat drones.
To obtain the information, the man tried to elicit some data from his acquaintances during conversations and then conducted further reconnaissance near the target facilities.
The ruscists planned to use his coordinates to prepare new air strikes on Kharkiv.
During the search of the suspect’s home, the SSU seized a mobile phone with an anonymous chat in a messenger app through which he communicated with the FSB.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
- 263.1 (illegal acquisition and storage of an explosive device).
The suspect is currently in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
