The SSU military counterintelligence has detained another FSB agent in Odesa region. The suspect was coordinating russian missile and drone attacks on fuel and energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the agent’s priority tasks included locating and passing on the coordinates of gas stations, as well as the locations of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) freight trains and Defense Forces fuel tankers.

SSU officers detained the perpetrator red-handed while he was installing a GPS tracker on a military fuel tanker to guide a hostile attack in real time.

According to case files, the russian strikes were targeted by a local unemployed man recruited by the FSB. He came to the attention of ruscists while looking for ‘easy money’ on Telegram channels.

Following his remote recruitment, the agent received instructions from a russian handler to identify key targets, purchase GPS trackers, and plant them on designated objects.

By carrying out precision strikes on fuel tankers, cargo trains, and local gas stations, the enemy planned to disrupt front-line supply lines and destabilize the internal situation in southern Ukraine.

During a search at the scene of the suspect's detention, officers found the GPS tracker he was supposed to activate on the military fuel truck. The detainee was also seized of a smartphone containing evidence of his work for the enemy.

SSU investigators notified the agent of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody without the right to bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Odesa Region Prosecutor’s Office.
