SSU detains FSB agent who adjusted strikes on Mykolaiv and Odesa and planned escape to russia
The SSU Counterintelligence has apprehended an agent of russia’s federal security service who operated in Mykolaiv and Odesa. He was preparing coordinates for missile and drone strikes on both cities and forming a new intelligence network for the aggressor.
According to the investigation, the perpetrator is a military pensioner from Mykolaiv region who came to the enemy’s attention during his trips to russia before the full-scale war.
After the start of the full-scale invasion, the man was contacted remotely by an FSB officer, who offered him cooperation. For helping the aggressor, the man was promised extraction to russia with further support.
On the instructions of the russian service, the agent reconnoitered the locations of the Defense Forces. Against these targets, the ruscists planned to launch air strikes using Shahed-type kamikaze drones and missiles.
The traitor also conducted reconnaissance at the sites of hits to inform the aggressor about the consequences of russian attacks.
In order to expand the FSB’s intelligence-gathering and collect more data, the man was looking for people to recruit.
To do this, he tried to make his acquaintances – former law enforcement officers – unwittingly provide information on the mood of serving officers.
The SSU Counterintelligence documented his criminal activity and apprehended him at his home.
During the searches, SIM cards and two mobile phones were seized. One of the devices was used for secret communication with the occupiers.
The detainee has been notified of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Mykolaiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
