SSU detains FSB agent who used his partner to adjust russian strikes on Dnipro
The SSU has apprehended another member of an agent network of russia’s federal security service, which was dismantled in Dnipropetrovsk region in 2024.
Back then, the SSU Counterintelligence detained eight russian agents who were adjusting russia’s missile and drone strikes on this region.
The Service has now collected evidence against their accomplice. He is a 46-year-old local resident who was hiding from mobilization and performing FSB’s tasks.
According to the investigation, the agent was preparing coordinates for ruscist air attacks on the locations of the Defence Forces in Dnipro.
In order not to be seen in the streets, the traitor involved his partner in reconnaissance and sabotage activities, and she unwittingly took part in them.
At his request, the woman walked around the area, recorded the geolocations of military facilities and sent them to the man in the form of marks on Google maps.
The agent explained the need for such screenshots as ‘his job’, although in fact he was unemployed and provided the information to the occupiers.
The SSU Counterintelligence detained the traitor in his home and seized a mobile phone with evidence of cooperation with the enemy.
Action was taken to protect the positions of the Defence Forces in the region.
SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The suspect’s partner is currently cooperating with the investigation as a witness.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
