SSU detains enemy agent preparing russia’s attacks on oil depots and power stations in central Ukraine
The Security Service of Ukraine has detained another enemy agent in Kropyvnytskyi who was preparing russia’s new missile and drone attacks on facilities in Ukraine’s fuel and energy sector.
Among the priority ‘targets’ identified for the agent by his handler were local petroleum, oil and lubricants depots and key power stations.
The traitor’s task was to locate such facilities, film them and pass on their coordinates.
To this end, he drove around the regional centre and the surrounding districts in his car.
The suspect also tracked combat positions of Ukrainian air defence forces and collected data on the aftermath of previous shelling.
According to the investigation, the perpetrator is a local draft-dodger with pro-kremlin views, recruited by the ruscists.
It has been established that he not only received operational instructions from a handler in russia but also studied the intricacies of conducting reconnaissance using manuals from russian military training institutions which he found online.
SSU cybersecurity team and investigators exposed the agent, documented his crimes and detained him.
During a search of his premises, a smartphone containing evidence of his activities on behalf of the enemy was seized.
SSU investigators have notified the detainee of his status as a suspect under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Kirovohrad region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
