SSU detains agent of russian guard who helped enemy break through to Myrnohrad

The SSU Counterintelligence has apprehended another enemy agent in Donetsk region. He assisted the occupiers in preparing combat operations to break through the defenses of Myrnohrad on Pokrovsk direction.

To do this, the perpetrator walked around the town and its suburbs, covertly recording the locations of Ukrainian fortifications and firing positions.

According to the investigation, the traitor is a 25-year-old local unemployed man, recruited remotely by the russian military intelligence.

He transmitted the collected information by a messenger app to a ‘liaison’ – another traitor fighting in the ranks of a russian guard unit on the eastern front.

In addition to coordinates of military targets, the asset sent the geolocations of power facilities providing electricity to Pokrovsk district.

The SSU identified the suspect’s location and detained him during counter-sabotage operations. A mobile phone with evidence of reconnaissance and sabotage against Ukraine was seized from him.

According to the investigation, the individual came to the attention of the enemy intelligence service because of his regular pro-kremlin comments in the chats of russian Telegram channels.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
