In Kharkiv region, the SSU Counterintelligence has detained another two enemy agents. The perpetrators acted on orders of russia’s federal security service and collected coordinates of the Defence Forces near Izium.

The enemy accomplices are two local residents who acted separately but reported to the same handler in moscow.

One of them is a 56-year-old employee of a gas compressor station who, under the guise of work trips, recorded the geolocations of military installations and passed them to the FSB.

He also sent text messages to his handler describing the location of the main transformers of the gas compressor station. The occupiers were preparing air strikes on this equipment.

Another agent turned out to be a 57-year-old driver who delivered food to frontline shops and, at the same time, identified coordinates of Ukrainian defence strongholds.

Both traitors sent the collected data via messenger apps to the head of the group. The latter is their fellow villager, who left for russia during the temporary occupation of the community and works for the russian intelligence services.

He was recruited in russia by an FSB employee, already identified by the SSU Counterintelligence.

The individual was tasked with forming an agent network in Izium district of Kharkiv region.

The SSU uncovered the aggressor’s accomplices at an early stage and documented their intelligence activities. Simultaneously, action was taken to protect the locations of the Defence Forces.

In the final stage of the special operation, two agents were detained. Smartphones, which they used to coordinate their actions with the group’s resident, were seized during the searches.

SSU investigators notified the detainees of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed by a group, under martial law).

The suspects are in custody without bail and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Efforts to bring the network’s head to justice are underway.

The special operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv regions under the procedural supervision of Kharkiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
