SSU detains FSB agents guiding enemy attacks at key thermal power station in Dnipropetrovsk region

In the Dnipropetrovsk oblast, the SSU Counterintelligence has detained another two agents of russia’s federal security service. The perpetrators were responsible for guiding russian missile and drone attacks on the region’s energy infrastructure.

One of their key tasks was to conduct reconnaissance near a local thermal power station that supplies electricity to the region’s frontline areas.

The investigation revealed that local residents were responsible for adjusting the air strikes. They operated independently of one another, but they all had the same FSB handler.

One of the suspects is a draft dodger from Dnipro who rarely left his home and covertly elicited information from neighbours and relatives.

Under the guise of casual conversation, he attempted to learn not only about the technical condition of the local thermal power station but also the coordinates of Ukrainian air defence firing positions.

Another spotter is an unemployed woman from Zelenodolsk who walked the target area to identify and record the locations of bases belonging to mobile air defence groups. She also monitored the aftermath of air strikes on local energy facilities.

The Security Service uncovered both agents, documented their crimes, and detained them.

During searches of the suspects’ premises, smartphones containing evidence of their work for the enemy were seized.

SSU investigators have notified the perpetrators of their status as suspects under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspects are in custody without bail and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

This operation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
