SSU detains FSB agent preparing new russian attack on Odesa region
The Security Service has detained another spotter of russian missile and drone attacks on Odesa region. She turned out to be a local resident recruited by russia’s federal security service. The agent was preparing coordinates for a new series of strikes on the southern region.
This time, the aggressor planned to carry out precision strikes against Ukrainian air defence systems protecting the airspace of the coastal zone.
The russian intelligence intended to target bases of mobile air defence groups, as well as combat positions of anti-aircraft missile systems and radar stations of the Defence Forces.
To identify the geolocations and transmit them to the FSB, the agent travelled by public transportation through the area near the Black Sea coast.
Upon identifying military facilities, she conducted on-foot reconnaissance around them, photographing and filming the outer perimeters of the targets.
She also marked their locations on Google Maps and then saved screenshots of the electronic coordinates on her smartphone.
The enemy asset passed the gathered intelligence to her handler in russia via an anonymous chat in a messaging app.
The SSU documented the suspect’s crimes and apprehended her as she was recording the positions of Ukrainian troops on her smartphone.
As the investigation established, the perpetrator is a local saleswoman recruited by the FSB. She came to the occupiers’ attention while seeking ‘easy money’ on Telegram channels.
SSU investigators have notified her of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Odesa region under the procedural guidance of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
