The SSU has detained another FSB agent in the Poltava region. The suspect was conducting reconnaissance near key energy facilities in the region, which supply power to the regional capital and surrounding districts.

According to the case file, the detainee was a student at a local university who had been recruited by the enemy. She came to the attention of the FSB whilst searching for ‘easy money’ on Telegram channels.

After being recruited, the female agent walked around the city and the surrounding area under the guise of going for walks, in order to identify the locations of energy infrastructure targets that the russians were preparing to strike from the air.

In addition, she travelled around the region by taxi and took photographs and videos of Ukrainian air defence units.

The SSU officers uncovered the agent’s activities  in advance and detained her.

During a search, her smartphones and computer equipment containing evidence of her activities on behalf of the enemy were seized.

The SSU investigators served the detainee suspicion notice under Article 111.2 of the CCU (treason committed under martial law).

The suspect is being held in custody without the right to bail. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Comprehensive measures were carried out by the SSU officers in the Cherkasy region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
