SSU detains FSB agent who set up ‘video traps’ on Kyiv Sea to direct russia’s massive attacks on Kyiv (video)
The SSU Military Counterintelligence has detained another spotter of russia’s federal security service in the Kyiv region.
It has been established that she was involved in planning one of the largest russian attacks on the Ukrainian capital, which took place on 24 May 2026. Furthermore, following this attack, she was preparing for further russian strikes on Kyiv.
The investigation revealed that an unemployed resident of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region, recruited by the enemy, was responsible for guiding russian drones and missiles.
To carry out her tasks, the woman arrived at a hotel complex on the coast of the Kyiv Sea, posing as a holidaymaker.
There, she settled into a room overlooking the reservoir and installed a phone camera in the window, giving the FSB remote access.
The ruscists hoped to use this to track the locations and combat operations of Ukrainian air defence forces online during the attack.
If the coordinates of the Defence Forces’ anti-aircraft missile systems and mobile fire groups were identified, the aggressor state planned to carry out combined strikes against them.
Following the night-time shelling of the city on 24 May, the agent lay low, but later received a new assignment to coordinate further shelling of the capital.
The SSU caught her red-handed while she was setting up a new ‘observation post’ in a hotel room near the Kyiv Sea.
It has been established that the russian FSB recruited the asset via a Telegram channel offering 'easy money'.
During searches, two smartphones, a laptop, and notes containing evidence of her work for the enemy were seized from the detainee.
SSU investigators have notified her of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Odesa Office under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
