SSU detains GRU agent who adjusted dozens of Shahed drone strikes on Odesa

In Odesa, the SSU Counterintelligence has apprehended another member of an intelligence network of the GRU (the main directorate of the general staff of the russian armed forces), which operated in the city.

The agent passed to the aggressor dozens of geolocations, where, in her opinion, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were based.

In August this year, the SSU exposed and served suspicion notices to two other members of this enemy cell.

These are the agent ‘Diezel’ and his wife, who was the GRU’s ‘liaison’ and is now hiding from justice in St. Petersburg.

The third suspect has now been detained. Using coordinates provided by her, the occupiers carried out targeted air strikes, primarily using Shahed-type kamikaze drones.

On the UAVs, the invaders wrote that the munitions were launched ‘on behalf’ of the pro-kremlin Telegram channel used by the russian military intelligence to recruit and handle assets.

The traitor communicated through an anonymous chat with the network’s coordinator, a serving officer of the 3rd operational unit of the GRU’s 316th intelligence centre, Grigoryi Ivanov.

After the enemy strikes on Odesa, the asset reported to her handler on the consequences of the hits.

She also conducted additional reconnaissance near several infrastructure facilities in Odesa, providing the intelligence to the russian service.

The SSU exposed the suspect’s reconnaissance and sabotage activities and apprehended her in her home.

According to the investigation, the aggressor’s informant is a local businesswoman, recruited remotely by the GRU in June this year.

The occupiers noticed the woman because of her activity in their Telegram channel.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served the enemy accomplice a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody, facing life imprisonment.

The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Odesa Region Prosecutor’s Office.
