The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended another enemy agent in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The perpetrator was adjusting russian missile and drone attacks on the Pavlohrad district.

According to SSU cyber experts and investigators, the suspect is a local resident recruited by the enemy, who carried out tasks for an officer of the FSB’s military counterintelligence department in return for money.

It has been documented that the agent was tracking down reserve command posts and temporary deployment sites of the Defence Forces in the Pavlohrad area.

To gather intelligence, she walked around the area, secretly taking photographs and marking on Google Maps the locations which, in her opinion, were being used by Ukrainian defenders.

In addition, the agent tracked the parking locations of Ukrainian soldiers’ vehicles, which would subsequently have enabled the enemy to conduct terrorist attacks.

The suspect attempted to conceal her work for russia and used a fictitious nickname for this purpose.

However, this did not help her. The SSU cyber team exposed the agent at the early stage of her espionage activities, systematically documented her crimes and detained her.

The SSU also took action to secure the Defence Forces’ bases and movement routes.

As the investigation revealed, the woman came to the attention of the russians whilst seeking ‘easy’ money on Telegram.

During a search, her mobile phone and tablet containing evidence of her work for the enemy were seized.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of her status as a suspect under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions under the procedural supervision of the Dnipropetrovsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
