SSU detains FSB agent group that adjusted missile strikes on three regions of Ukraine
The Security Service of Ukraine has dismantled an agent group of russia’s federal security service that operated in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Lviv regions. The perpetrators adjusted enemy missile attacks on the Defense Forces.
As a result of the operation, three agents who were preparing coordinates for the attacks on Ukrainian targets were detained.
The aggressor’s priority targets were military airfields, backup command posts and training centers for Ukrainian defenders, as well as armored vehicles and UAVs repair facilities.
To collect intelligence, the FSB remotely recruited local unemployed individuals aged 23, 34, and 40 who were looking for ‘quick money’ on Telegram channels.
The assets were dispersed across three regions of Ukraine, but had one russian handler – a serving employee of the FSB russian Black Sea fleet department. The SSU cyber units have already identified him.
One of the agents was sent to Lviv. To gather information, the traitor got a job as a forwarder at a local construction company that performed contracts for military units.
Another spy is a resident of Kyiv oblast who traveled around the region trying to identify the main and operational airfields with combat aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
One more traitor is a resident of Kharkiv: he was tracking the places of large concentrations of Ukrainian military personnel and equipment in the frontline city.
He also tried to elicit from his acquaintances information about local enterprises that repair Ukrainian military equipment.
The SSU timely uncovered all three agents, documented their crimes and caught them in the act when each of them was conducting reconnaissance near potential targets.
The detainees’ mobile phones with anonymous messenger chats, which they used to communicate with the FSB, were seized.
SSU investigators notified them of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspects are in custody and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was conducted by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
