SSU detains FSB agent pair who installed video traps in high-rise buildings to adjust strikes on Kyiv

The SSU Counterintelligence has detained another two FSB agents who were adjusting russian air strikes on Kyiv. To guide enemy attacks at the targets, they installed 4G cameras with remote access for the occupiers.

With the help of video devices, russia hoped to track rocket and drone strikes online. Among other things, the ruscists were interested in the coordinates from which the Ukrainian air defense systems operate.

The majority of the video traps were set up on the windows of the upper floors of apartment buildings in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.

To do this, the couple rented apartments with money from russia’s federal security service and moved into the flats with the purchased video equipment.

According to the investigation, the enemy accomplices are a 22-year-old man from Poltava and his 19-year-old wife, who were looking for easy money on Telegram.

After recruitment, the agents went to several cities in the northern regions of Ukraine, where they looked for homes near military facilities and critical infrastructure.

In addition to apartments, they installed cameras near railway junction stations and main railway lines.

The SSU Counterintelligence uncovered the pair of agents at an early stage and took action to protect the relevant locations.

In the final stage of the special operation, both perpetrators were caught red-handed while installing a video camera in an apartment near a defence facility.

SSU investigators notified them of suspicion under Articles 28.2 and 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law by a group of persons acting in collusion).

The suspects are in custody without bail and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
