The Security Service has exposed the head of one of the departments of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, who praised putin and justified russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

As the investigation established, the official spread enemy propaganda among her colleagues and people she knew.

Among other things, the official:

• quoted the kremlin leader’s public statements approvingly;
• justified russian strikes on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, particularly energy facilities in the capital;
• disseminated fakes about Ukraine’s Defence Forces;
• disseminated disinformation regarding the operational situation at the front.

A linguistic analysis initiated by the Security Service confirmed the facts of the suspect’s information-subversive activities in russia’s favour.

Four smartphones, two laptops, a hard drive, and other materials containing evidence of crimes were seized from the perpetrator during the search.

SSU investigators have notified the official of suspicion under Article 436-2.3 of the CCU (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, and glorification of its participants).

The suspect faces up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operational and investigative actions were carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
