In Vinnytsia oblast, the SSU detained an FSB agent who was collecting information on Ukraine’s Defence Forces and justifying russia’s armed aggression.

The perpetrator is the wife of a former party of regions representative who headed the local district council until 2015.

On the instructions of the russian intelligence, she tried to identify airfields with Ukrainian combat aircraft and helicopters and to find out if there are air defence systems near the airfields.

The enemy agent was also interested in the geolocation of medical facilities where Ukrainian defenders are treated and was tracking routes of military echelons.

In case of receiving the intelligence, the aggressor planned to use it to prepare missile and drone strikes on the region.

As a result of counter-sabotage measures, the SSU uncovered the russian spy, documented her criminal actions and detained her.

Due to the SSU’s prompt response, the attacks on strategic infrastructure were prevented.

The investigation revealed that the asset had used an anonymous Odnoklassniki account to call for support for putin and justify the invasion of Ukraine.

It was her anti-Ukrainian activity on the banned social network that brought her to the attention of the FSB and led to her recruitment.

During the searches of the suspect’s home, the SSU seized mobile phones and a tablet that she used to communicate with the enemy.

SSU investigators have served the woman a notice of suspicion under five Articles of the CCU:

• 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
• 109.2 (distribution of materials calling for overthrow of constitutional order and seizure of state power);
• 110.1 (dissemination of material calling for change of Ukraine’s state border in violation of the procedure established by the Constitution of Ukraine);
• 436 (dissemination of material calling for aggressive war);
• 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants, committed repeatedly).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Vinnytsia region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
