SSU exposes FSB saboteur on preparing to blow up railway near Avdiivka (video)
The SSU prevented russia’s act of sabotage on railway in the frontline area of Donetsk oblast.
As a result of a multi-stage special operation, the SSU detained an FSB agent who was preparing an explosion on a railway track on Avdiivka direction.
In this way, the occupiers planned to disrupt logistics of Ukrainian Defence Forces, including supply of fuel and ammunition.
To carry out sabotage, the enemy agent had to take the explosives from a previously prepared cache, disguise and install them near the railway line.
However, the SSU timely detained the suspect and documented the crime.
According to the investigation, the aggressor’s accomplice is a railway station employee from Ukrainsk, who was recruited remotely by the FSB in March 2023.
He came to the attention of russian intelligence because of his activity on banned social media, where he expressed support for ruscists.
The FSB used one of their assets in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region to recruit him via the Internet; the agent is a paramedic in the russian occupation group Sparta.
She was the one ‘in touch’ with the saboteur.
As ‘test assignments’, the latter collected intelligence on locations of the Defence Forces in Avdiivka sector and passed it to the invaders.
The enemy was also interested in coordinates of the AFU units in Pokrovsk district.
Later, the russian agent was instructed to carry out sabotage on the railway.
The SSU seized from the detained individual a mobile phone with evidence of reconnaissance and subversive activities against Ukraine.
SSU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody, facing life imprisonment.
The investigation is ongoing.
The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the special operation under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
