SSU detains russian informant who spied on AFU rocket artillery near Pokrovsk

The SSU Counterintelligence has detained another enemy informant who was passing to the occupiers the locations of the Defense Forces in Donetsk region.

The enemy was primarily interested in the positions of HIMARS missile systems on Pokrovsk direction.

In addition, the perpetrator tried to establish the coordinates of the headquarters, fortifications and routes of movement of the AFU heavy weapons.

The aggressor needed the information to prepare new offensive operations and missile strikes in this area of the front.

To collect intelligence, the offender drove around the area under the guise of a taxi driver.

Moreover, the traitor elicited the information he needed from his passengers.

The SSU documented suspect's criminal actions and detained him.

According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice is a resident of Myrnohrad who was an active user of a russian Telegram bot that collects information about the AFU deployment on the Eastern front.

The informant sent coordinates of the Defense Forces facilities with a detailed description to the messenger.

During the searches, the SSU seized a cell phone and SIM cards with evidence of transferring classified information to the aggressor.

Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on the movement or location of the AFU committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces up to 8 years in prison.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
