SSU detains FSB informants looking for weaknesses in Sloviansk defence

The SSU has neutralized a group of FSB informants in Donetsk region. Two suspects involved in preparing russian military operations against Ukraine’s Defence Forces near Sloviansk have been detained.

In order to plan air strikes on the city, the occupiers hoped to get from their assets approximate geolocations of the AFU’s anti-aircraft missile systems.

The enemy also tried to obtain coordinates of Ukrainian multiple rocket artillery systems, including HIMARS, strongholds and checkpoints on the outskirts of Sloviansk.

The ruscists wanted to find ‘weaknesses’ in the city’s defences and use them in new massive attacks on that direction.

The SSU identified the enemy informants in a timely manner and exposed their plans.

Every step of the FSB’s accomplices was documented and the aggressor’s plans were thwarted.

At the final stage of the operation, the SSU detained the perpetrators. They were two locals - an employee of a utility company and an unemployed man.

Earlier this year, they came into contact with the russian intelligence through their acquaintance, a militant of the occupation forces of russia’s Southern military district.

They communicated with each other via video calls in a messenger app.

For secrecy, the traitors acted separately from each other and gathered intelligence while driving in the frontline areas, where they secretly recorded the ‘targets’.

During the searches, the SSU found mobile phones, which they used to communicate with the aggressor, and draft ‘reports’ for the FSB.

The SSU also seized 90 rounds of ammunition for AK-74 rifle from one of the suspects.

The SSU served the detained enemy informants notices of suspicion under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on movement, transfer or deployment of the AFU, committed under martial law).

The suspects are in custody and face up to 12 years in prison.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
