SSU detains enemy informants who tried to disrupt logistics of Ukraine’s Defence Forces on Eastern front
The SSU has thwarted russian attempts to destroy the logistics of Ukraine’s Defence Forces on the south-eastern front.
As a result of a special operation in Dnipropetrovsk region, the SSU detained two enemy informants who were preparing coordinates for a new series of missile and drone strikes on Ukrzaliznytsia facilities.
The aggressor was targeting junction stations and railway lines, through which, according to ruscists, military equipment and ammunition could be transported to the eastern front.
To adjust the strikes, the perpetrators installed hidden video cameras near railway stations, which broadcast train movements in real time to the occupiers’ accounts.
To disguise the video traps, the devices were set up in trees, hidden in the branches, and connected to portable batteries.
Every three days, the enemy accomplices replaced the power banks to ensure uninterrupted video transmission.
The assets acted separately from each other, but carefully followed instructions and secrecy rules from a single russian handler.
The SSU uncovered the traitors at an early stage, documented their crimes and detained them.
According to the investigation, the agents are local unemployed individuals aged 20 and 23, remotely recruited by russia through Telegram channels, where the men were looking for easy money.
During the searches, mobile phones, power banks and video cameras with evidence of sabotage against Ukraine were seized from them.
SSU investigators notified the detainees of suspicion under Articles 27.5 and 114-2 of the CCU (aiding in the unauthorized dissemination of information on movement and location of the AFU, if they can be identified on the ground, committed under martial law).
The suspects are in custody and face up to 8 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
